How do you prepare tube oil paints for liquid pouring art?

  • sorry, I have not seen anyone try to do a pour with Oil paints because by nature, they are not liquid enough and I don't know what you could add that would make it flow like the acrylics. Not only that but I don't know how it would ever dry properly. Sorry, that isn't much help

      Thanks anyway. Lowes has an additive for acrylics and one for oils that thins them down. It is antrol or something like that. I've read that it works with acrylics so maybe the other one will work with oils. I might invest in it and try. Expensive. Good point about drying times. Thought thinner paint might dry faster. I hate to throw good paints away. Thanks again.

    Turpentine will thin oil paints enough for you to try a dirty pour with them, but you'll have to be really quick since the turps also speeds up the drying time of the oil paint
