How can I use old oil paints?

i HAVE TONS OF OLD TUBE OIL PAINTS THAT i WOULD LIKE TO USE. I have read how mixing certain things with acrylic paint works but I don't know what to use with oil.

    Hi there, mineral spirits has always worked well for me both for oil based paints and wood stains as well.

    As a painter, we used linseed oil to thin our oil paints on our pallet.

    Linseed oil will work if the oil paints haven't dried out completely. Unfortunately there isn't any way to reconstitute dry oil paint. Water based paints, yes, oils, no. Once the oil paint is dry it can't be reversed. It is a chemical change (oxidation) of the linseed oil that the paint was made with. Once it's dry, it's dry forever -- one of the reasons oil paintings last so long.
