How i Replace with smalll stones?

Not sure I'm getting your question but I think you're asking how you can add to the stones already in place? If yes buy a good weed and grass killer and spray it on the existing small stones. Once the weeds and grass is dead you can clean up the area and then simply add more small stones. If you are consistent with the weed/grass killer you shouldn't have a problem going forward. Tur: Oh, dear! Weeds can get going wherever they want, can't they: The tarp kept weeds out shortly after the rocks were placed, but then the wind comes and bird fly over, etc. and there you are! If you want to keep the rocks, you will just have to pull weeds and add rocks if it looks like some are missing. If you want to get back to a "regular" yard, the rocks will have to go and remove the tarp, etc. Then there is the soil to deal with in order to plant flower beds and/or grassy areas. It's sounding like adding rocks where needed and pulling weeds is the easier way to go! Best wishes!

If you want a yard with grass, it can be done. First, you will need to remove the tarp. It is very possible that when you do that, the weeds will pull up also and you can just dispose of tarp and weeds at the same time. Second, you will need to add topsoil (although I have seen very patient people simply seed the area with grass seed several summers in a row), spread it about the yard and then seed the yard. Spread hay on top of the seed and water daily. You will see the hay break down and the grass grow. Do not cut it right away. Wait until it gets taller. I have to say my experience has been in northwest Connecticut and things may be different where you are located. Good luck!

I HATE stones, or landscape rock/gravel. Unfortunately the only way to get rid of them is to dig them out. It is a lot of work, depending on how much you have. My sister dug out a huge amount and put them in a pile at the end of her drive way and put a FREE sign, a few days later they were gone. You may be able to pull them all out by pulling up on the weed barrier ( tarp) and see if they come out clean... good luck, replace the rock with top soil or dirt and throw grass seed down and keep wet/moist till grass sprouts

I'd make this weed killer and spray those weeds. Add rocks where needed or simply move what you have around to cover bare spots.

There are lots of these yards on the west coast of Florida and I think they look nice if kept weed free and cleaned.Natural Weed Killer

• 1 gallon white vinegar
• 1 cup salt
• 1 tablespoon liquid dish soap

Combine ingredients in a spray bottle and treat weeds at the sunniest time of day for best results.

You can do this a section at a time or all at once. Weeds a thing of past IF you want to keep rock landscape, as "I" take it that you do.

Get some good yardage or large pieces of old think dark colored 100% polyester DOUBLEKNIT fabric. Cheap find at thrift stores & yard sales.

Remove rocks & tarp material. While tarps are good for short term use, they deteriorate fairly quickly thus leaving vulnerabilities for weeds to quickly grow, just as weed barrier does (it's too thin to last very long).

After removing rocks & tarp material, pull out weeds or spray ground with weed killer. Let any spray dry for a few minutes THEN COVER the dirt or ground area with the dark colored polyester double-digit. Overlap any areas of fabric pieces a few inches. Replace rocks & add rocks as needed for good coverage. (Be sure to place fabric over all area you wish to cover with rocks.

You're done. Enjoy your beautiful landscape. Any weeds you see springing up will be on top of the fabric & can easily be pulled out. Shake rocks off their roots & toss them. No need to spray weed killer & leave ugly brown spot. Weeds can't grow thru polyester fabric very easily & thus, growth will be on top so just pull them up as they show up & toss them in trash bag. I've used this technique since 1973. Uuhhh that's how many years of success?? You do the math......
