I need to shorten elastic bands on summer shoes
Hello Marie, What part of the shoe needs mending?
the upper part, the shoes straps are now loose and inefficient to keep the shoe firmly on the foot.
make a tuck on the elastic and with heavy thread se each tuck in place. best to do this on a side that will not bother your foot wearing.
If you can open the sole where the elastic strap comes from without marring the appearance of the sole, do so, know before hand by pulling and marking the underside of the elastic. Trim leaving a similar amount to tuck back in sole as mfg. had. Put Gorilla glue in opening and insert elastic quickly. Four strong Bulldog clips, two for each side parallel w the sole, each two touching so there is a smooth even appearance when dry. Let dry 24 hours. Allow 2/3 days to wear.
