How do I make a headboard from an iron crib?

I have a decorative iron crib that I would like to turn into a headboard. There is a rounded curve at the top and straight pillars down. I need ideas on how to attach the two pieces to make a headboard.

Two hole pipe straps bolted together ... can be painted to match the headboard.

Could you simply hang it on the wall behind the bed? You could make a bracket out of wood that’s mostly hidden behind the mattress. :)
