Hi Jsr29386652; Cucumbers take lots of water, but It sounds like you bought pickling cucumber seeds or plants instead of slicing ones. Pickling cucumbers stay small - 4" or less in length - and do not stay green as long as the slicing type do. Your best bet is to use them as baby slicers in salads, etc. and enjoy the crop before they have a chance to ripen and turn yellow. Double check the tag that was in the plants - if you bought plants - and remember, there are some people who enjoy changing labels in pots at the store. This is why I only purchase seeds and raise my own plants to put in my gardens; my favorite slicer is Straight Eight as it is delicious and never bitter on the end that's attached to the vine. Hope this helps, have fun gardening!

Hi Jst, Here's a link that may help: https://www.gardenloka.com/cucumber-plants-turning-yellow/

Another problem may be with polination. Here's something I found in a google search:

Pollination is probably the issue - the cucumber is formed behind a female flower, but if the flower does not get pollinated, then it yellows, shrivels and drops off. You can hand pollinate - take a small paintbrush, grasp the male flower (the ones without the tiny cucumber behind them), gently swirl the brush around in the centre of the flower, till you can see yellow pollen on it, then transfer that to the female, using the same procedure.

    Good luck!

It sounds like something in the soil. There are test kits you can buy to test it. Once you know what’s lacking you can buy it and add it to the soil. Since you have plants already in the soil you’ Have to sprinkle it on top of the soil.
