When is best time to plant mums

    Ideally, chrysanthemums should be planted in the early spring after the danger of freezing weather has passed. They can really be planted any time, though, as long as the roots have at least 6 weeks to become established before extremes of either hot or freezing weather.

    I agree with Barb Malloy, it depends on where you live. I live in Michigan and I usually plant them when I buy them. A few years ago I bought three different ones, they say to pinch them back around July so they grow bushy. Other than that there isn't much else I do to them.
