I was at Lowe’s yesterday. She showed me a can of oil based paint specifically for laminate or Formica. It comes in about 10 colors. Each $20 can will cover 25 linear feet of kitchen counter. It was a name brand like Krylon or Glidden. Just don’t remember. But I have 40 linear feet so that sounded good to me. It needs to be done in a well ventilated area so I’ll be waiting until the weather is cooler so I can open the house and use the attic fan for ventilation. And she was reading the label where it said it needed 3 days to cure. I’m sure Home Depot and other places would have that or something similar. She said they sold an awful lot of the stuff and none had come back as far as she knows. She’s the department head for the paint dept and that’s all I knew to ask.

Lightly sand to remove any gloss. Prime with Kilz primer. Paint with acrylic latex paint.
