Growing Fuchsia from Seed - Bonsai Garden
www.bonsaigarden.net/growing_fuchsia_from_seed.html
Hi Moo,
Click here for an article about how to harvest, save and store the fuchsia seeds so that you can plant them in the spring. If you didn't let them dry out, that might be what happened. Wishing you happy gardening - Linda
Let the seeds dry out put them in a plastic bag and save for next year
Hi, Moo! The short version is: Gather the seeds on a paper towel, spread them out, and let them dry about three weeks on a window ledge or someplace else that is naturally warm and dry. Roll the paper towel up and fold the ends, keeping the seeds inside. Place the packet in a zip lock plastic bag which is labeled “fushia seeds”. Place the bag in your freezer or in the bottom drawer of the fridge. When winter weather is almost over in your part of the world, take out the packet. Let it warm to room temperature for three days before opening the packet. Then plant the seeds in prepared pots inside. Your fushia should start germinating within three weeks at the latest. If you don’t see sprouts by then, Moo, the seeds were dead. It’s nature. It happens. Best wishes to you! ☺️
