How can I make make my bathroom cabinets more attractive ?

I recently plainted my bathroom cabinets, but I don’t like the color. How can I work with this color to achieve a spa look? It’ll cost $600 to repaint them.

I would put some antique glaze on them and one more door pull under the sink.

Use some glaze to bring out the details.

Why would repainting them cost $600.00? Paint is not that expensive. How about wiping the mirror with an antiquing wax to bring out the texture of the wood design. You could add a beautiful wallpaper pattern to the door middle raised section. Find a PRE PASTED print you love, cut to the size of the middle raised section of the door and soak in water for 1-2 minutes. Apply to cabinet doors and smooth with a soft towel making sure the corners are stuck down well. A beachy theme with shells would look nice with the current color. A roll of wall paper can be pretty inexpensive. You can do the drawers as well removing the handles and make you piece about an 1-1/2" smaller than the drawer front. Apply paper and re-attach the handles. You have a new look in a few hours that is easy to change anytime you want.

Leave those beautiful cabinets as is and paint the room! How blah is that color?

    Brenda,

The cabinets are BEAUTIFUL and I would not paint them. I think what you need is a different color floor. Your granite is beautiful but is competing with that floor.

I would chose a very plain pattern, maybe a cream color with black mortar (black is good because lighter colors soon show a wear pattern when they get stained).

Spread out a white sheet on your floor and see if it does not make you see your bathroom is STUNNING!

You might want to find a couple of small pretty colorful objects (I like red with cream and black) to hang on the wall above the towel holder. You don't want to junk it up, but a wall vase with a few silk red poppies in it would be pretty...poppies have that black center.

Wall vases come in all sizes and shapes...here is a link!

Your counter top is beautiful, and I love the detail on that mirror. If this were my project, I would paint the cabinets and the mirror white, to really showcase that countertop, and that might help the competition between walls, counter and floor. If that's still a problem, I would try a rug first, to tone down that floor, or replace it. If you like the look of glazing, you could try to tone down the white paint with a glaze, but I feel like the look could be going in the direction of "spa-like" in which case, leave the nice clean white look. I'm envious, you have great pieces to start with. Post a picture after your project is complete!

Step off the color and sand down. Paint with chalk paint, electric sand and then seal. Looks beautiful. Search out Pinterest or chalk paint

The cabinets look great! I agree that you might consider making the floor lighter.

Wish I had such a nice Bathroom. Paint the walls and get colorful towels. Put up some artwork.

Paint the walls and the mirror frame, wall one color, mirror a different color. Then add pretty towels and some artwork. You are stressing too much, you actually have a beautiful bathroom! Enjoy!

New hardware on the cabinets. Instead of knobs use long modern handles.

Your cabinets, counter top & fixtures are beautiful. But you need some color. The cabinets & walls are too much the same color. Pick a picture or shower curtain you like & pick a color out of it for towels, rugs & maybe something on the countertop. A small vase in the color with a flower would be nice. It doesn’t take a lot to change it up.

Agree that it needs a pop of some color. A vase with some flowers (get some that look real, not the cheap ones) and maybe some towels that have the same color in them as the flowers. A new floor would be nice, but if it is out of the budget then get a nice rug to place in front of the sink. As mentioned above, the middle drawer could benefit with having a handle as well. The cabinets were painted beautifully and the color is timeless.

I actually love the color you chose. The monochromatic look is very versatile. I'd look at photos of spa-like bathrooms that inspire you and study them. Adding another metal such as antique brass or chrome will elevate the decor. You can add this by way of picture frames or shelving, decorative hooks, etc. When I think of spas I think of luxurious white towels. Roll some up on a shelf or in a large basket. Get your favorite scented candles in there. I do agree that the color of the floor clashes, unfortunately. I've seen a lot of tutorials on Pinterest where people have painted tile and it turns out looking amazing. Is that tile? I'd choose a medium greige. Choose a dark color from the countertop. Something dark will be a nice contrast to your cabinets and wall color and trim. I'd also consider lush shag rugs. Something u can squish your toes into. Perhaps her some nice hooks and some thick, nice, terricloth robes to hang up. They can be both functional and decor. Hang photos of serene scenes. Black and white would look beautiful in antique brass or chrome frames. Add texture with baskets, rugs, wooden accents. I'd love to see what direction you took. Post updated photos!

I think it looks great. You can try- stencils, rub on stencils- Prima, or removable wallpaper that has patterns at Home Depot

    Hello Brenda,

You could improve the overall attractiveness of the bathroom by way of accessories, Flowers in a vase, Coloured Towels etc. (Not enough colour to pop!)

Hi Your countertop is gorgeous. The cabinet is beautiful too. But if you want a change you can glaze your vanity or just paint the inserts a different color. I think the floor is competing with your vanity. Costco has some beautiful big bathroom rugs that would go nicely. Maybe paint the walls a darker color. Painting the cabinet should not be costly. Even Benjamin Moore paint cost under $50 a gallon and that is all you would need. Use a sponge roller or if you have a spray painter take off the doors and do that part outside. Good luck.

Pick out a paint the colour of the floor and paint the details on the cabinet and mirror in that colour, that should help!

Hi Brenda, you could add some colors you love, like in the towels and shower curtain, pictures, etc. So nice teal accents for example.
