Dawn it isn't a good idea because of how alcohol interacts with wood and wood finishes. While you might expect it to do nothing or just leave a small stain, rubbing alcohol acts as a solvent when it comes into contact with wood and wood finishes.
Why, what are you trying to do?
It will probably ruin the stain and finish. If you are cleaning it try a gentle cleaner designed for wood.
