How can I replace sheetrock on a bathroom ceiling with another procuct
Besides sheetrock on a bathroom ceiling, is there another product I can use, that would be easier to clean. We have a build up of mold that is difficult to clean off of sheetrock.

All you need is a decent paint job. To get rid of the mold and mildew, wash down with vinegar.

Then paint with a proper bathroom ceiling paint which will be easier to wipe down when needed. Also install an exhaust fan if there isn't one already. Ventilation needs to be improved. Crack a window, even a portable fan will work in a pinch.
Cement board is code compliant. Not much easier to clean than drywall. You can cover the drywall with other products. Drywall is required by building and fire codes. And your homeowners insurer.
You can use PVC Ceiling Tiles they come in all kinds of designs and colors.
Thank You
We installed pre-finished (kind of plastic-y finish but made from wood) beadboard. Haven't seen any mold and the finish would make it easy to clean. Having a fan that vents well also makes a huge difference.
I replaced a damaged bathroom ceiling w thin bead board screwed to the joists for ease in removal if necessary. I "painted" the screw heads w a dab of matching nail polish. EASY fix!
BUT...you must fix your moisture source and remove all mold first.
