How do I make a recirculating stream down a hill?

We have a hill in the backyard and would love to build a recirculating stream down the hill with some rock steps on the side of it

GET a fountain insert & some extra hose. Run the empty hose from the top of the hill to the bottom 5 inches under the soil. Dig a hole at the top of the hill. Place the fountain pump inside the hole & attach it to the hose to it. At the bottom of the hill should be a little pool that the stream runs into. The hose at the bottom will suck up the water & the pump will transport it back thru the buried hose up to the top of the hill & replenish the stream. It's an endless cycle until the hose needs cleaning, the water needs to be replaced or the pump messes up. Good Luck

Do a web search on DIY ponds. ideas are good but the sourse info on the equipment is invaluable. We did one on a play farm and went with solar electric. (not the cheapest but like I sad it s a play place for big kids.

We set the water flow (on off and volume) to be a function of sun & cloud activity. (caution research the ideas and equipment carefully)

You MUST have the pond at the bottom big enough to hold all the water when the pump s off. If you put fish in the bottom pond give them protection from birds or you'll be out of fish in short order,
