Chalk paint finish ideas?
I am painting my first chalk paint piece which is a small sanded dresser. Any tips, techniques, and finish ideas will be greatly appreciated. I'm thinking of chalk painting sides and front, then tinting with chalk paint on drawer fronts, and staining the top. I have never used chalk paint. I love the awesome pieces I've seen on here!

Hello,l I think you idea would look wonderful. It would give it a nice contrast.
Looks like a newer piece, not antique, but you might still have problems with bleed through over the knots. Use a sealer called ?Zweiss with shellac ( sorry, as close to the name as I can get without research). I have discovered that spray paint does a good job of sealing areas. I find chalk paint hard to work with because I use a clear finish rather than wax, and want a smooth surface. Use foam brushed for a smoother finish. Layer colors on the areas you distress. Have a plan for what you want the finished item to look like. Line the drawers with wallpaper and put it on the outsides of the drawer, so when the drawer is open it's decorative. Use automotive sandpaper for the finest grit.
