How to makeover an old chest?

How do I glam it up a old treasure chest. it's covered with tin that is coming off, and it has wood legs

If there's solid wood beneath that tin, sand/stain it-- refinish it. Depending upon how large it is and how it's made where the legs connect, you might consider removing the legs adding wheels --the kind that can support a heavy weight.
