I find that Windex sprayed on the kills well, and does the least damage to surfaces. Spray it on ants at the first sign, let dry, then wipe up dead ants. It might take a second treatment. Leaving it set in between helps. Find the entry point and sprinkle ground cinammon there to keep them from returning.

You can spritz the ants with straight vinegar. Repeat in 3 or 4 days to kill any eggs.
