I love mason jar projects. I had seen these awesome bird feeders that include a mason jar and a chicken feeder and I just loved them. So I did my version of this hanging bird feeder. I think it turned out nice.
I started with a clean mason jar. I wanted to paint it so I used some Sea Glass paint in lemon.
I love the sea glass paint. This was the first time had used it and I was really happy with how it came out.

I gave my mason jar two coats while it was upside down and then one more coat after turning it right side up.

Since I had painted the jar I didn't want to use wire to hang it up. I knew it would scratch. So I created a fish net hanger using three different fall colors of twine. I used brown, green and orange.

You can see in the video just how I created the fish net hanger.
When I was finished with the fish net hanger all there was left to do was to add the bird food and screw on the chicken feeder.
Then I found a tree so I could try it out. I love it! What do you think?

As much as I love to watch the birds, we have several bird hunting cats at our house so I will give it to someone who can safely feed the birds and they will love it too.
