Creating your own unique artwork can be quite easy. Especially with the rub on transfers that are readily available.
I took a trip to my home improvement store and bought 1" x 6" boards, as well as 1" x 2" boards. The 1" x 6"s were cut to the right length and painted with the color, Fluff, from the Dixie Belle Paint Company. You could use a piece of plywood but I went for the ship lap look.
I stained the 1" x 2" pieces of wood with VooDoo Gel Stain in the color Tobacco Road. VooDoo Gel Stain is water based for easy clean up! The frame was then nailed onto the 1" x 6" boards.
I picked out one of the Re*design With Prima image transfers, that according to Google translates to, Drinking wine is an integral part of life as eating food.
These transfers are so easy to use. You simply rub over the image with the stick that is provided in the package and the image will come off of the clear plastic and onto the piece you are working on.
The transfers come in sections so they can be easily placed to create the right proportion for whatever you're working on.
I added eye screws and wire to the back for easy hanging. And, best of all, creating my ship lap artwork only took about an hour to make!
