How to remove a garden ?

still have some lawn want to get of rid of it
will "walk on me thyme" over power the lawn (get rid of it) or do I have to literally dig out the lawn?

You can dig out the lawn. The other thing you can do is kill the lawn by covering it with black plastic held down by stones, to starve it. If you just plant the thyme amongst the grass you will be spending a lot of time pulling up grass because you won’t like the way it looks.

A lot of work to remove the grass, but it will be so worth it, in the end. You can hire a Turf Stripper - it would make life so much easier and quicker.............
