Where else can I get bins that are a certain size?

I need bins to store CD @ DVDs...I’ve looked everywhere from the $1 store to The Container Store. They can not be wider than 5 1/2 inches, but can be as long as 14 - 16 inches. I bought 3 great bins from Dollar Tree (the length wasn’t as long, but I could put them behind one another & on top). I even brought my tape measure with me, and they were exactly 5 1/2 wide!! But then the scrollwork design makes them a little difficult to take in and out, even if the CD & DVD’s are just in the jackets. Thought thar because the bins didn’t taper down, I’d have no trouble. I even tried to put the narrowest part of the CD & DVD in Ugh!

You may have more luck on Amazon, not sure, but it sounds like an option when the dollar stores do not have the right sizes and you want plastic bins.

If you have a Sams club near you they have a product called Members Mark White Honey, They are a pair of jars of honey that come in a box that measures 14" x 5 and 5/8" If you were to tape them tightly all around with shipping tape, you could probably get them down to exactly 5 and 1/2" wide. The front and back ends of these boxes are 4" tall and the cut out sides are 3" tall. Then cover them with which ever wrap or contact paper you prefer.

They will be happy to let you take them.

    Best to you.

Thank you Kathy, I will check out these options... I don’t have a Walmart by me, but I can check out e-bay. I was able to find metal grated bins @ The Container Store last night, which are stackable and came in the size I needed. They go with the metal pulls that’s on my entertainment unit. Thanks for your input!

maybe check online? thats usually what I do when I get stumped!

I would do that as a last resort. I usually like to try things in person, since so won’t have to go through the hassle of things if wrong color, size, etc., But thank you so much for your idea!
