After reading the title of this DIY home decor project, you probably have the hocus pocus song on repeat in your head. With that said, we might as well dive right into creating this fun Halloween sign that's perfect to place on a mantle, shelf, or even hung on a wall.
Here's where it all starts with gathering all of your supplies. Watch as all these items come together for the ultimate hocus pocus sign.
Paint the large wooden board black with acrylic paint. Once it dries, apply a second coat for a flawless finish.
While the black paint is drying, now is the time to stain your wooden skeleton. These can be found at your local craft store.
Once everything is dry, apply the wood glue to the back of the skeleton and press firmly to the front of the black board. Be careful not to apply too much glue to where it seeps out of the sides.
Attach a clamp on both sides or place a few heavy books on top of the skeleton face to ensure there's enough pressure for it to successfully stick to the board.
Allow the wood glue to dry for an hour and remove the clamps. Using a hot glue gun, attach the colorful flowers to the top of the skeleton face. Have fun with the colors you choose and the placement of them.
You can either stop here if you're happy with your DIY Halloween home decor or you can add Hocus Pocus for an extra special touch. Use a pencil to write "hocus" above the skeleton and "pocus" below the skeleton. Take your time and trace over the wording with a paint marker.
With a little bit of stain, paint, and flowers, these materials were completely transformed into the perfect hocus pocus sign. For the exact measurements, the paint and stain colors used, and how to write in calligraphy, check out the link below for all the details! Happy creating for your home!
