How do I pick my outside door color?

I have a older red brick house, dark green shutters and green roof with white siding around the edge. I tried a mustard yellow didn’t like it. I have now the color of shutters and roof but I’m afraid it’s to much. Can I add white paint to green to lighten it up or y’all help me pick a good color! I use to be able to pick but age has made it much harder to choose. HEEEEEELP!

What about a classic black? Or a Dark Brick red?

I would paint the white trim and the door in a lighter green, almost an army green color. There are too many colors with the white, and army green and deep green against the brick will warm up the look.

take pictures of your home to you favorite paint store and seek assistance from your local shop owner. Are there any home with similar paint schemes in your area that you like?

I would go with a forest green. And yes if you want to add white paint to green, it will definitely lighten it. Take your mixed paint to Home Depot or Lowes and have them shake it up in their machine for thorough mixing. Remember to keep a small jar for touch up as this will be custom colored. I have mixed paints for many years and it is a great way to use leftover paint too.
