Did you snag any of those plastic Easter eggs off the clearance shelves? Turn them into Christmas ornaments, stocking stuffers, secret pal gift holders or create mini gifts for any occasion.
1. Lay out all your supplies And plug in your glue gun. You'll have to work pretty quickly with the glue so be sure to have everything at hand. For this project, I used small hemp twine, scrapbook supplies, tiny silk flowers and miscellaneous decorative items.

2. Take your eggs apart by cutting the plastic hinge. Clean up the leftover hinge by snipping as close to the edge as possible with small scissors or use an exacto-knife.

NOTE: At this point, if you were going to decorate to place on a Christmas tree, you would drill or cut a tiny hole in the top of the egg. Cut an eight inch piece of ribbon, fold in half, push raw edges through hole, tie in a knot and secure with glue.
3. Starting with the top (taller) half of the egg, run a two inch bead of hot glue along the edge of the egg. Immediately place twine on glue. Continue with small sections of glue and twine until you reach the top.
(continue working around to the top)
(Almost there...)
4. Place a small dollop of hot glue on the top of the egg, curl the twine into the center and press gently. Once secure, snip the twine as closely as possible to the egg. Repeat the process with the other half being sure to start ABOVE the area that snaps into the top half of the egg.
5. Using a semi-wide ribbon of your choice, glue to top half of the wallowing a small amount to hang over to cover the seam. Proceed to decorate as you see fit. Let your creativity take hold! Fill with candy, tiny toys, coins or what-have-you. Wha-la! Inexpensive gift/decoration!
