    Hello Thela,

I am assuming its your dog?

We trained our dogs to pee in a mulched area.

We had problems with dog urine devastating the green grassy turf. When the human leash training and otc urine ph supplement and other recommendations failed-We resorted to a remote training collar to train our dogs over the last 17+ years. This collar is exactly the same principle as our existing invisible fence, but you can resort to a tone only button initiation to keep the dog away from an area you’re trying to protect. There are two different zap modes of nick and shock that you initiate and regulate by a intensity dial. Its the same type of collars hunting dogs use.

I do realize these Remote training collars are not for all people but if you using invisible type fence already- it’s likely a great option. My dogs were trained to pee and in mulched area and our grass has been great the last 17+ years. After training they don't need to wear the collar its just a habit they remember.

Sorry for chiming in a bit late to the discussion, but I really feel like I need to add my 2 cents.

I know how frustrating it must be for you if you have a dog that just won’t learn how to potty outside. You’ve probably tried all sorts of training techniques that you found online or in a book at the library and nothing worked. At least, that’s what happened to me...

Me and my hubby were able to find a solution and I’ll always be thankful that we did, because since then we have had no problem teaching my foster dogs where to potty – and I can do it within a couple of days.

I now recommend it to everyone because it works so freakin' well and we save SOO much money!

Don't waste time sister! The more times your dog goes to the bathroom inside your home the harder it will be to break him of this habit.

Take action now and permanently stop your dog from using the bathroom inside before it's too late!

Here's the guide we used that shows you how to completely potty train any dog or puppy quickly and easily in 7 days or less...

No I have not been paid for this post nor do I make any commissions off of it. I really just want to help you guys out. I hope you don't mind.

I'm based in Sweden, by the way, so you should be able to get it too.

Good luck with the odor and the stains! It really lowers your quality of life, doesn't it?

We had an English Mastif very large female , big brown spots every where in the yard. I read that a solution of epsom salt and water poored on the spots will help to neutralize the acid from the urine and add magnesium back to the ground it actually will make your yard very green. (Look up Epsom salt council) Thanks for asking this reminds me I have to do some spot control again. You would only need a few tablespoons per gallon of water pour directly on the spot. Miracle grow and what it is made of, interesting!

Hi Thela, so sorry to hear that. It's a common problem. Dog urine is rich in nitrogen and ammonia so it acts as a liquid fertilizer in a concentrated amount. You can put a tablespoon of baking soda on the spot and water the area to dilute. I personally don't believe in giving your fur baby supplements to neutralize the nitrogen in their wee. It messes with their own body functions.
