Easy Patio Herb Garden

Fresh herbs are so wonderful to have around, and so expensive to buy in the store (and not always all that fresh), that having an herb garden is the perfect solution. But, I don't have a good spot in my yard, or in my kitchen, to plant the herb garden that I always wish I had. This year, I finally decided I was going to come up with a way to keep a small herb garden on my patio.
My first line of business was to find some sort of containers. I headed to the thrift store, where I always go to find such inspiration, and I came upon this wooden basket with dividers. i decided it would work perfectly and brought it home, where I painted it red to match my patio furniture.
I purchased some Socker buckets from IKEA, purchased some ready-to-plant herbs from the garden center (if I had thought of this earlier in the year, I may have tried starting my own), and I got to planting.
I also found some really cute plant markers while out and about one day, and lucky for me, they had all the right ones for the herbs I had purchased: Rosemary, Basil, Dill, and Parsley. (These are what we use most in our kitchen.)
And now it sits happily on the picnic table outside in the back! I love to look at it, and think it brings a lot of cheer to my patio, as well as a lot of cheer to my cooking! (Next project? Paint the picnic table!)

Looks nice! I also use to by some herbs as plants - or often also in pots that are sold in every grocery stores around here. They give so nice smell in patio, too.
