How do I paint my front door?

I have this very old and need of a new one door. But until I can afford a new door I wanted to paint this door red. But, considering the three windows, is this going to look bad if I paint the door red. What I'd actually do is paint the windows red as well. What do you think?

I would since they are already painted white it shouldn't be hard for the paint to adhere to the window.

Love the door! I think it would be beautiful red but not so sure about painting the windows. Is that for security?

paint the door red and if you need the windows covered for privacy, "paint" a faux stain glass design with Gallery Glass paint ( you probably won't want to get a new door after that!) good luck

The door would look good red. I assumed you asked about painting the window frames red, not the entire window. If it were me, I wouldn't. Just the door

You can buy window film at most big box stores..Paint your door red...dont paint the glass! I had a door like yours and painted mine blue. Needed to cover the glass so I made a curtain for the backside and installed small rods on top and bottom inside of door for a curtain....Looked great

First sand the door down and fill in any places that have gauges with wood filler. Then sand again. I like Elmers outdoor wood filler it dries nice and hard. Then prime the door with a good gripping primer. Then paint the door with either a spray painter, or a mohair roller, Use a good quality roller to alleviate roller marks.

I would not paint the windows. But what you could do is get matt board and cut out inserts for the windows and place behind the glass inside the house. Or put up some fabric inserts. You can change these out with the seasons. I think a nice check would look great for Christmas. You can use eye hooks and wire to hand fabric. Have fun with it.

There is a paint in the hardware store that is meant for outdoor exposure.
