Is this a flower or weed?

My cousin tells me this flower/weed completely moves every year with no trace of being where it was previously. She lives in northern Indiana. It closes up at night and opens during the day.

Not easy to tell from this photo, being sideways and all, but the flower look like Salsify. Do you have a better photo? The difference between a flower and a weed, is a matter of perspective.

@Alan I think you've hit the nail on the head. My cousin thinks it's ugly so she'll call it a weed & get rid of it. Thanks.

In Utah they are considered a weed. Don't know the name of it though.

If you like it, it's a flower. If not, it's a weed. It's all a matter of opinion. :)
