How to reconfigure an existing deck to fit a larger pool?

We have a 24' above ground pool and have been offered a family member's deck which they have used with their 18' above ground pool. Is there any way to move it and rebuild it to fit around our larger pool?

You will probably have to buy additional wood but if you carefully remove their deck, you can definitely use the wood for yours. Pressure washing their donation will help to bring it to a newer look.

Never turn down a gift like that. What a great offer!

I;m sure that you can make adjustments to accommodate a pool that is larger - I would take good measurements of each section and make a schematic of the potentially larger deck on paper. Then take the schematic to a lumberyard and ask them to calculate the additional lumber needed. You already have more than 3/4 of what you need --- what a gift!

Melissa...I'll let you in on a little secret...something similar happened to me...we had a 24' round above ground pool with one side decked. Someone offered several deck sections from a pool they took down. We asked a contractor friend to draw up a new schematic using the old and new sections and bought additional lumber and trim to blend it all together. The lumberyard did the deck material estimate. Have fun in your pool!
