How do I build an outdoor dance floor that will last?

I want to build a pretty platform to use for outdoor dancing in my back yard. The kids have no where in this town to go to have fun and this would be a place they could come and dance and be supervised. This would be for my grandchildren and their dates. I would like it to be about a 20x 20 platform that will stand up to the weather.

What a fun idea! How long the platform lasts and how sturdy it is will depend on your climate. Do you live where there is snow or frost?

Here’s an idea from pallets. Obviously you would extend yours considerably.

Essentially you’re building a free-standing patio. While you want it up off the ground, don’t go too high unless you have great insurance. Be sure to frame it so there’s no shifting with athectic dancing!

Great idea to utilize pallets. I had not thought of that. Thank you
