I love repurposing old wood frames into chalkboards, this gives them new life and purpose. Follow below to see how I changed up one of those old landscape prints in the huge frames, this one had mirrored edges!! How groovy!

This is the frame in all is mirrored glory... and the print is just not appealing in my opinion but I knew it would be the perfect size chalk board

Getting the narrow mirrors off was not easy seeing it was glued on after factory on 2 sides with terrible chunky black gunk. However after a couple hours of chipping away with safety googles and some pry tools they were all gone.

The edges needed to be filled to give a smooth surface and not show the gouges the chunky black adhesive pulled off. I used Country Chic embossing paste for this step

Various colors of milk paint were applied for a gorgeous color then clear and white wax sealed it up with a farmhouse liming effect to further the farmhouse look and feel.

The original glass was painted 5 coats of rustoleum chalkboard paint

And here it is, isn't it beautiful? This jumbo chalkboard is off to add farmhouse charm and style to an office .
