Any room is a cat room - they like to own all their space. I can't keep my cat in one room even when there is a worker in the house. And kitty demands no doors are closed or she will scratch incessantly until its opened.
Kitty likes a nice cat tree, lots of cat toys but the ones with catnip are favorites as are the ones that sound like squissey plastic bags, and then some assorted cat pillows - mine favors the fuzzy ones. She also likes the window shelves to she can look out and sun her self.
They love lurking overhead. Climbing shelves are popular now. Stagger the elevations. The higher you set a shelf the better they like it (and they will try to reach it)
