ANTIQUE CHAIRS REVIVED… This Project Was More Than I Expected...

I recently purchased these two antique chairs, knowing they needed upholstery and possibly some rebuilding because they were a bit wobbly. What I didn't' know was it was going to turn into a complete overhaul!!! I mean I had to take apart the chairs to nothing, and the wood was dry and a bit too much for me to try to strip and Restain, but I think how they turned out is fabulous!!
BEFORE
This is what they looked like as I pulled off the dacron (the batting like wrapping under the fabric). I don't even know what some of it was… I mean it smelled bad and I think that green stuff is actually from a lawn chair...
When I FINALLY got everything off the top, this is what I found… The webbing was done upside down..???? (sorry the pictures are turned…)
Also, there was wood nailed to the bottom of the chairs, pushing the springs up and the springs were nailed to the wood… what a nightmare pulling out each of those rusty nails and staples, My hand was blistered and bruised after two days…
SO, at this point, I pulled everything off and rebuilt the chairs.. All the joints were loose and like I said these are very old chairs, so I had to do something to add strength.. I added a seat and a new cushion…. I used my own version of Chalk paint in my own custom color called "Tritan Grey" and absolutely adore the fabric I used… It is a modern print with a reversible side, so I can achieve a little different look for each chair.
