Lingerie Chest Makeover

I don't know about you but I am a total sucker for lingerie chests. They almost always look great painted with its narrow build and numerous drawers. Did you know that the standard lingerie chest was made with 7 drawers for the 7 days of the week. One for each day for a ladies undergarments apparently.
This lingerie chest was too cute to pass up. Its all wood and on casters. Score! It was claimed for a custom makeover by a woman who loves the color green!
To make my prep work easier I decided to sand the entire lingerie chest with my orbital sander.
Then I brought the tall chest with all of its drawers inside my shop. I tossed up a plastic tarp to use as a drop cloth while I prepare my paint sprayer.
The sprayer was used to paint inside the drawers in a granny apple green. You can get great quality furniture paint online HERE.
The top of the lingerie chest is given a new dark wood stain while the rest is painted in layers of soft greens.
The green layers all blend into one another.
Since the drawers are a bold green you only see that when the drawers are open leaving the outside a softer green with new ceramic hardware knobs. If you love lingerie chests then make sure to check out this more feminine makeover project: Painted Layers on a Tall Lingerie Chest
