Is there an easy way to Re-grout tile floors?

After re-grouting in between tiles, it is so difficult to get the excess grout off the tile. Is there an easier way to do it?

This might sound a bit strange, but it does help a lot. We put our grout mixture in a cake icing bag; I think the right word for it is a piping bag. Either way it gives you lots of control over where the grout goes and makes the clean up afterwards way easier.

Be sure to wipe off excess grout immediately after smoothing. Wash your sponge out after each use so you don't continually rub grout everywhere. Wring out the sponge very well as you don't want to water down the grout between tiles or wipe up too much.
