Easy To Make Mr. & Mrs. Scarecrow Mason Jars

Mason jars can be used in so many different ways and these Mr. & Mrs. Scarecrow Mason Jars are just too cute! Fall is my absolute favorite Season, not only for decorating, but just in general. There is something about living in New England and the change of Seasons that really makes it special. Start with a glass mason jar.
I will say if I make more of these, I would definitely buy plain mason jars without any raised embossing. They still worked fine, but I think the plain glass would show the face better. You can find mason jars at the Dollar Store or any craft stores.
Give the mason jars two to three solid coats of paint-letting them dry in between. The picture above shows two coats, but I did end up adding a third coat as it was showing streaks. You could definitely use chalk paint if you want as it might have better coverage.
The easiest way to add the burlap is to fold the burlap in half and hold it around the mason jar then snip where it should end both width and length, then cut. Use a double piece so it is not too transparent. Plus it makes it easier to add the hot glue. Just run hot glue along the side of the burlap where it will meet with the mason jar.
Add buttons and flowers or whatever else you would like to your Mason Jar Scarecrows. The Mrs has eyelashes and a little too much blush. Have fun with it and get the kids involved too. Wouldn’t it be cute to have a family of them lining a window sill? Aside from the paint drying they took only about 45 minutes to make. Plus they are very inexpensive too costing just a few dollars each with supplies.
I hope you enjoyed these Mason Jar Scarecrows and I would love to see pictures if you make some. Leave me a comment with a picture. For more Fall decorating ideas you can check out my favorite fall wreath  here  and last year’s Fall Tablescape  here.
