How do I get rid of yellow jackets?
I have used spray killer, water (high pressure), and gasoline; they are still alive. One place is on the grass, the other is in the corner where my driveway meets the garage.
Thanks for your help!

Hi Kathy OMG you have some serious tough yellow jackets. Here are some ideas: https://www.doityourself.com/stry/4-ways-to-kill-yellow-jackets
The main one that seemed workable was boiling water for your ground hive. The other was a trap using 2 liter plastic bottles. Good luck and be careful!!
Hi Kathy! Sometimes before adding more chemicals, when you've already tried so many ways, it is time to call in an exterminator. I was fighting with a pest, when I finally had a licensed exterminator in. He dealt with the pest, guaranteed his work, and in the end cost less than I had already spent on it when I called him. Ask if they deal with outside pests. They are licensed to use chemicals and have tools a homeowner doesn't.
My husband used to pour lacquer thinner on the ground hives in the grass and then light it. This is an extreme solution and I would never do this near a structure - like your garage, but it solved the problem. Take all precautions. Good luck, yellow jackets are nasty!
See if these help!

Following this with great interest. I'm emptying six traps twice a week. We found one underground nest that we have treated three times with commercial wasp killer. Third time is the charm right.?
So...how do I locate additional nests? We haven't landscaped yet so it's rough and scruffy acreage.

The trick to yellow jackets is to put a trap out early in the season so you get the queen. This article explains it better than I can.

To let everyone know, the thing that worked the best was SpectracidePro from Lowe's.
The spray is it for yellow jackets? If so apply it later in the evening when they return to the nest. Otherwise, you don’t kill them all.
This year I got an early start and set up traps in late April. So far there is minimal yellow jacket activity but peak season is still a few weeks away....crossing my fingers...
