Have tall pine trees managed to pick them off lower branches but can’t reach the middle or upper branches I’d say it’s a large infestation.

Trichogramma wasps available at arbico Pest Control. When I first heard of this,I kind of laughed. But to my chagrin when you add 10000 predators for bag worms. On a couple of match book size cards. Dwang, that definitely augments the Predator to prey relationship. I haven't had any outbreaks of bagworms in my yard on my pecan trees, nor for that matter the entire neighborhood.

When you first start seeing caterpillars is when you order the wasps. there is a whole list of insects that trichogramma controls. Be best to look that up yourself.

Contact your local (County) Vector Control entity for advice and they may also inspect and treat the vegetation as part of their duties for the State they represent with no charge.

At the very least they can define the appropriate options for containment.

I had bag worms in my Leland cypress-really bad. Read on the internet what to do and the best thing that worked for me was Malathion. This can be purchased at Lowes/Home Depot. I had to really saturate the "bags" and more than once. The higher up ones-got a ladder and sprayed the heck out of them. Finally was rid of them and haven't had a problem since; this was probably 5 years ago.
