Here is a great website that I use to learn how to do different styles and there are printable designs. www.craftstylish.com I plan to make mine into birdhouses.
Paint them with a spray outdoor paint. Apply a spray outdoor sealer to protect your. I would prime them before painting to prevent bleed thru. After the primer use metallic fall colors, tie ribbon or raffia around their 'necks'. I painted a cement turtle using this method. He, happily lives on the deck and I bring him for winters. Hope this helps
I liked staining them with ink....It's bright but you can see the gourd through it because it's transparent. Then I spray them with a clear spray. https://welburngourdfarm.com/products/gourd-ink-dyes
Bird feeders or just art but the best Ive seen is a viking ship that a local craft person makes. So cool. He even makes the little shields all down the sides and the sails too.
These are at a craftsman level FAR beyond my level of expertise!!! They are extremely beautiful and awesomely creative. My hat goes off to you!
YOU MUST DRY THEM OUT TAKE THE SEEDS OUT AND PAINT
Spray paint them! They will look gorgeous with a coat of orange glossy spray paint!
