Is it possible to cover up paneling besides painting ?

I have paneling in basement but don't have lots of money to tear down and find out what's behind it n redue. Just thought of maybe using foam designed ceiling panels. They seem to be simple to place on ceiling or walls.

The foam ceiling panels would work but if you want less design you might try just plain old fabric of your choice to change it up a lot. Also, have you considered wallpapering it with the newer prepasted wallpaper or removable contact paper?

I haven't thought of wallpaper, I didn't think it would stick to panel but can give it a try. Possibly contact paper but not sure. Sometimes it may not always stick too well. Thank you for your suggestions Janice.

Ceiling panels can easily dent, scratch, and show bumps. It may not even be code to put them on walls.

liquid starch and fabric. just like wallpaper and comes off easy to change, no damage.

Would the fabric have to be a certain texture or content? Probably would have to go to Walmart or Fabric Store. Where should I find the Liquid Starch? This may work. Not sure. I just bought house n the basement is paneled. It's brown n I don't like it. Just don't have extra in budget right now to tear down. Thought something else could work for awhile.ty for your idea.
