How can I fix cracks in a large concrete patio?

I have a large concrete patio that has unsightly cracks in it. I have tried several remedies but nothing seems to stay for very long. I pressure wash it every Spring to remove dirt and mildew. I even stained it but that didn't last very long. The house was built in the late 60's or 70's and I assume patio was built at that time. We have had several earthquakes and each time there seems to be a new crack or the old ones get longer. How do I fix the cracks in my patio?

Tin Hi,. If you have several cracks, it could be the pressure washer is too strong, and along with the quaks this doesn't help. I don't think anything will help, but you can roll on a color such as a dark grey to cover the cracks. Aloha!
Your patio was probably built without expansion joints. I am filling my expansion joints with backer rod and concrete caulk. That would work with your cracks. See photos. Clean out crack, insert backer rod, put5 blue tape at edges, insert caulk.
You could also build a wood deck over the old patio if you have enough space between patio and door sills. I did this once to have a deck bigger than patio slab. I used pressure treated 2x4s directly on slab and then some support out past the end of the joists. Then I laid deck boards.
I saw some self-leveling crack filler at Home Depot yesterday.
