How to make a lamp from old cigar box?

You could purchase a lamp kit at any home improvement store along with a metal tube to run up through your cigar box to create a lamp and base. Here's a link of a man who built a lamp using several cigar boxes. Though this is likely not your vision (got fairly large) it might help with some of the details. I'm envisioning a regular bulb and lampshade above your one cigar box. Hope this helps and have fun!
What a great idea! I have several cigar boxes in my shop just being lazy. But...Janice has great advice with a lamp kit. I would only add two more ideas. First...put something heavy inside on the bottom so it is not quite so top heavy. Second...use an LED bulb to cut down on the heat that is thrown off by an incandescent bulb.

If you'd like to make their own lamp from a bottle, box or anything else, the bottle lighting kits with multiple choices of top adaptors are at hardware stores and Walmart for approximately $6-10. I just made a lamp from a fishing pole!
