Don’t take them to the vet! They’ll charge you $200 and sell you medicine, and nothing works!

    • Change vets if that has happened to you. Many times it is a food allergy and all you need to do is find a better kibble for them. I have one dog with serious skin allergies. $200 is cheap! I would love a $200 vet bill . . . Seriously, figure out what it could be. I switched my entire laundry regime just for one dog. She is allergic to everything. I have to use a specific detergent and no chemicals - vinegar and baking soda in the wash and dry with felted wool dryer balls.

Are they being bathed too often, or with shampoos made for human use? A vet will tell you if they are allergic to chemicals in your yard or inside your home.

You can use Benadryl on dogs. Might try changing feed may have a food allergy.

Itching can be the result of several things, allergies or mange for example. If they all scratch they probably have something communicable. They should see a vet for a proper diagnosis and corse of treatment.

    Hi Sara,

Your dogs may have dry skin under their fur. That will definitely cause itching and then they will naturally scratch. Just like humans do. :) Here are some ideas for natural product that can help. If these ideas don't help then I'd suggest a trip to the veterinarian for your dogs. Wishing you dogs good health! -Linda

Take your dog's to the vet. It could be a simple food allergy (one of my dogs, I now make homemade food for the entire group), or a skin allergy. I revamped my entire laundry routine around one dog. No chemicals, a free and clear detergent (not Tide! Mine was allergic), and felted wool dryer balls for the dryer.

You could try adding some vegetable oil to your dogs food, but you need to find out from a veterinarian wether it’s an allergy, or dry skin. DO NOT GIVE YOUR DOG HUMAN MEDICINE unless your vet ok’s it!!! Shop around ask different veterinarians what they charge for an examination, and vaccines, get an idea from those on who has the most reasonable prices.

Take them to a vet please, there are so many things it could be since it is both your dogs they could be suffering from mites (mange) which is very painful and will get much worse with time. If it’s treated early it’s much cheaper for you and can save your dogs life! Allergies are unlikely since it is both dogs.
