Whitewash Brick Fireplace Chalk Paint Accents
Had a 25 foot fireplace in house I recently purchased . Immediately thought it could be updated easily and wanted to give it a new look
I decided I wanted to try whitewashing brick so mixed 1 part white paint to 1 part water. I purchased some grey chalk paint to add an accent color to wood doors an mantle.
I started at the bottom to try and get my technique down and to be sure that I was going to like it.
I applied using a paintbrush and wiped any visible drips as I went. I worked in 4-6 foot sections.
First coat was on and I liked the look.
Added detail to wood doors and wood on mantle with grey chalk paint.
I liked it but didn’t like how the gold fireplace insert stuck out. I decided to paint white for a better blend with the intent of changing out or updating later.
Let dry overnight and applied second coat
I added some white to the doors and dark grey to center.
