Do you sew? Because quilting is a great use of old cloth and is very relaxing, as long as you aren't on a deadline. Depending the material, I use them to make cleaning rags. You can make "pumpkins" since it's that time of the year. I've seen stuffed Christmas trees. This article is for old clothing but it may give you some ideas as well.

Judy, can you be a little more specific? There are literally hundreds of ideas, so narrowing the field down to what you may be most interested in using it for would be so helpful in helping you!

Also Judy, it is so nice to make small throws, quilting style, and give to family members as gifts.

The best applications to re-use old cloth depend on a few factors:

What is the fabric content of the cloth? Is it washable?

    How worn out/thin/thick is it?

How clean is it? Does it have any permanent stains?

Does it have any residual/musty odours?

Any fabric with a polyester content does not work effectively for cleaning. As well, any fabric that shreds easily, or sheds lint, is also not suitable for cleaning cloths.

Dish towels? Check out Pinterest! Patch it together and make quilts for the homeless in your area - that's a project I am working on now using men's shirts from the give-way bin. My preference is 100% cotton for everything.

Cut into strips, weave into a mat for your pet dogs and cats.
