Outdoor Blanket From $5 Bed Sheet

Sometimes the best ideas are the ...cheapest!? Head outdoors with an inexpensive flat bed sheet (I found mine for $5!) and your crafting scissors to turn that bed sheet into a tasseled picnic, backyard movie or watching the stars outdoor blanket. It only takes a few minutes to get the family out of the house for some backyard fun!
Lay the bedsheet down on a flat surface. Use your craft or sewing scissors to create slits every 1" along the bottom of the sheet. I cut slits approximately 5" long.

Repeat the same process for the opposite end of the bed sheet.
Cut strips from the ends of flat bed sheet.
Tie two slits together and make a knot where they meet the flat bed sheet. You will do this along the bed sheet, on both ends, to give this bed sheet tassels.

Add some anti-fray spray to the end of the bedsheet to prevent unraveling.
Tie two slits together to make tassels.
If you feel like sewing, instead of making tassels, add some double wide bias tape to each end for a colorful pop of color.

Turn $5 bed sheet into outdoor blanket.
