Herbs.
Strawberry planter! You can surely use it for succulents. Any plant that trails would look pretty too.
Hi, Jennifer: I love it! Looks like a basil plant painted on the side so I suggest that you plant it with herbs. Basil grows quite tall, so use thyme and/or mint of different flavors. If the top is open, you could put basil there. Thyme spreads and would look great hanging off the edge.
Strawberries. Yum!
That type of planter is mostly for kitchen herbs. Basically anything you could keep inside or deck to use have easy access to. Strawberries are planted in them too, but I thinks herbs work better because those plants last for longer periods.
My vote is for herbs too, it looks to me as though it was designed to be use inside on the kitchen windowsill rather than outside :)
hen and chicks do well in these pots
Thank you everyone for your help!!!
Nice jar! You have an older strawberry jar. You can fill it with soil and tuck strawberry plants in those pockets. Another nice idea would be various succulents which are popular now. Enjoy, this is a lovely planter.
I think it would look cute with air plants around the sides and succulents planted in the top. Have a few that will drape over the sides too for interest.
I put chicken hens in mine..no muss no fuss!
That is adorable! I would put succulents on the sides or ferns.
What about some herbs?
Chicken and hens , they would grow out through the holes . Easy to transplant if becomes to thick , just pull a piece up root and all , stick down into good dirt and it will take hold and spread .
You can grow strawberries in it.
