  • I don't think so, lots of people do this as a DIY project. Here's something to get you started:

You can all supplies needed from Lowe’s , if you need a piece cut and don’t want to rent (or) buy a tile saw you can take your measurements to them and the tile and they will cut for you maybe for a small fee (compared to buying or renting a saw)

Home Depot should have the same supplies

not familiar with them since the closest to me is over a 100 miles. Lol

No contractor. Save your money. It is a DIY project.

Although it is not necessary to hire a contractor, at the end of the day, as it is your dollar, it is entirely your decision whether you want to hire someone else to do the job, or attempt it yourself.

Many home improvement stores run workshops on how to do these type of projects yourself. I would suggest that you contact them to see when the next sessions will be. Also, watch U-tube videos, and borrow books from the library. Becoming informed on what is involved in the process, and the pitfalls, start to finish, should help you with being comfortable with your decision.
