My tired kitchen needs an update and I need to go easy on my even more tired wallet. I have 25 yr old formica countertops in my kitchen that need new life. I’d like to cover the formica in some way, and change the color.
What kind of techniques can I try that will create a fresh new look. I am willing to try almost anything.

When I bought my house, there was contact paper on the formica. It was ugly so I pulled it up but it was really durable.
Depending on your skill level, you can replace the formica. It is sold in big box stores by the sheet.
They sell kits to refinish formica. I have also seen covering with tinted cement or pennies.

I used StoneCoatCountertops Epoxy and was very happy with results. These photos are of the results. The kitchen is not quite finished in these photos.
Ordered on line from STONECOATE, they have a lot of demo videos on YouTube and answer questions quickly.
