How do I cover a wall with several layers of bright paint on a wall?

Moved into new older home all rooms are a light natural shade but one room. Has 5" inch stripes of bright pink, blue, green, yellow. We want a cream like rest of room. What do we need to do?? Thanks

You can use primer over those stripes before you paint. I would do at least 2 coats. Keep in mind that with the primer you will still be able to see the stripes until you put on your paint. You can buy paint with primer in it BUT I would still use just plain old primer first in this situation because you want to paint a light color over the stripes. Some people may tell you to skip the primer and go right to the paint with primer--but I would still use the primer first.

I have a small bedroom, only 8'X10'. I need to sleep 2 preteens. I think a twin trundle bed is my best option. Any othert suggestions?

Unfortunately you are going to have to PRIME MAYBE TWICE...You can go to a paint store and ask for a separate primer other then the kind they sell in the paint...
