Phyllis is right. Plus, arrange the furniture differently if you can't replace it. Only allow items with good memories attached to hang on your wall or sit on your dresser. Put some healing plants in the room. Use sunshine during the day. If the room is carpeted and you can't remove the carpet, cover it with a rug that you really like.

If you mean: anger or some other bad/unpleasant motive, remove all the furnishings and get rid of what you don't want. Set the rest in the sun for at least 8 hours. Smudging the room with white sage can help - plus it is often a calming aromatherapy. If you can redecorate using colors and items you love, do so. Before you return sun treated furnishings send positive energy into them. I would also add a Himalayan salt lamp and a small dish of crystals to help reset the room with good intentions.

It's very cold in this room. Is there any type of paint that will help keep it warm.

    • Paint does not keep a room warm. Invest in thermal curtains or drapes. Check weather stripping on all windows and exterior doors. Use layers of bedding and cotton flannel sheets. Have your heater or hvac system serviced now, in the fall.

Hi Lester Mae. I’m sorry you’re having to go through this process. It’s very difficult. You must be gentle with yourself and move through this process with good intensions and a calm, peaceful heart. Otherwise you will find yourself in the same position.

All the above suggestions are good. What I would add to them is to not make these changes from a place of pain or hurt. Think about what you want in you bedroom; what will bring peace, calm and harmony to the space you want. Are there things in the room that still serve you and you have good feelings about? Keep those things. Smudge them with Palo Santo or sweetgrass to enhance the good energy. Take some with this process, Lester Mae. It’s so important to respond to your situation; not react to it.

Geez, I am going through this right now. Just had our tub converted to a shower. The man who did this remodel was very frustrated with this particular reno. It dragged on for 2 1/2 weeks, should have been done in 1 week. Swearing, slamming, yelling, all kinds of vents of frustration. My husband says just let it go, it's over and he is right.

True, no paint will warm the room, but making positive changes will help, fragrances, colors, and/or a combination of things may help you. Include a good friend. As Catherine said, respond to a situation, not react to it. Really good wisdom from her.
